Uzbekistan produces localized goods for 2.64bn soums in 1H 2010

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan produced localized goods for 2.64 billion soums in the first half of 2010 on 920 projects within the Programme of localization of ready products, spare parts and material based on industrial cooperation for 2010. The growth rate made up 40% year-on-year, the Ministry of Economy and the State Statistics Committee.

Share of localized products in total industrial production of Uzbekistan rose from 13.9% to 17.1% and it allowed to save US$1.7 billion on imports, which is up 1.3 times year-on-year.

In the reporting period, Uzbekistan started to produce 181 new products, including container trucks, trucks, passenger railway cars, trickle irrigation system, and others.

The volume of localized goods export rose by 80% year-on-year to US$259.1 million or 15.2% of total volume of localized products. Uzbekistan increased number of localized goods to 104, which are exported. Main items of exports were oil-gas and chemical equipment, education-laboratory equipment, cable-wire products, etc.
