Istomin, Amanmuradova progress in US Open

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Representatives of Uzbekistan Akgul Amanmuradova and Denis Istomin booked their placed in the second round of the US Open.

In the first round, Amanmuradova faced Chanelle Scheepers of South Africa. The match lasted 1 hour and 16 minutes. Amanmuradova won the match – 6/3 and 6/4.

World’s number 39 Denis Istomin played against Argentine's Maximo Gonzalez. Istomin claimed victory in straight sets - 7/5, 7/5 and 6/1. The sides played 2 hours and 19 minutes.

In the second round, Denis Istomin will face world number one Rafael Nadal, while Amanmuradova will play against Estonia’s Kaia Kanepri.
