Syrdarya region records highest GRP growth in 1H
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The highest growth of gross regional product (GRP) was registered in Syrdarya region in the first half of 2010, according to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.In the reporting period, the region’s GRP rose by 11.2% to 356.2 billion soums, while GRP per capita grew by 9.4%.
Namangan region (11.1%), Samarkand region (11%) and Andijan region (9.6%) also recorded high volume of the GRP in 2009.
In money terms, Tashkent city led on the GRP volume with 4.667 trillion soums. Tashkent region and Kashkadarya region followed Tashkent with 2.197 trillion soums and 2.181 trillion soums respectively.
Lowest GRP growth was registered in Ferghana region (2%), Kashkadrya region (3%), and Navoi region (5.7%).
As earlier reported, Uzbekistan’s gross domestic product in the first half of made up 24.167 trillion soums, or grew by 8% year-on-year.
