Armadillo becomes official mascot of 2014 FIFA World Cup

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An armadillo became an official mascot of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which will held in Brazil.

The image of the mascot was approved by FIFA, the foreign media said. The presentation of mascot will be held on 16 September 2012.

The decision to make the armadillo the mascot was initiated a nature protection organization. The armadillo lives in South America and it is endangered mammal.

The mascot has no name. Its name will be selected via Internet poll.
