Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of the resident population of Uzbekistan made up 30.183 million people as of 1 July 2013, or grew by 189,900 or 0.6% compared to the beginning of 2013, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
Number of urban population was 15.45 million persons (51.2% of the total number of population) and that of rural population – 14.744 million people (48.8%).
In January-June 2013, the birth rate was 18.3 pro mil and increased by 0.1 pro mil in comparison with the corresponding period of 2012 (18.2 pro mil).
In the reporting period the death rate was 4.7 pro mil (in January-June 2012 – 4.8 pro mil).
Out of the total number of the dead, 61.1% died of cardiovascular diseases, 7.3% – neoplasms, 6% – respiratory diseases, 5.4% – accidents, poisonings and traumas, and 5.3% – diseases of digestive organs.
According to the preliminary data in January-June, 3,200 children died at the age under one year. Infant death rate was 10.1 pro mil.
Out of the total number of children died at the age under one, 47.8% died of states occurring in perinatal period, 32% – respiratory diseases, 6.6% – congenital anomalies and 4.6% – infectious and parasitic diseases.
In January-June 2013, about 108,400 marriages and 11,100 divorces were registered. There were 7.3 marriages (in January-June 2012 – 7.5 marriages) and 0.7 divorces (in January-June 2012 – 0.6 divorces) per 1000 population.
According to the preliminary data, in January-June 2013 the number of immigrants was 83,600 persons and emigrants – 96,800 persons. Balance of migration was minus 13,200 persons versus minus 18,700 persons in the corresponding period of 2012.
