Uzbekistan to create venture on paper production

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A new Uzbek-German-Vietnamese joint venture will be created on the bases of Namangan Qogozi LLC in Uzbekistan, UzA reported.
Director of Namangan Qogozi LLC Yunusjon Sodiqov said that the enterprise is working on new project on further developing its capacities in assistance of the Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan, Namangan regional administration and other partner organizations.
He said that in line with the project, it is planned to create the Uzbek-German-Vietnamese joint venture on the bases of Namangan Qogozi LLC in cooperation with the representatives of paper industry of Germany, French branch of HSBS and China International Selfless Foundation Group (Hong Kong).
The project implementation will help annually produce 40,000 tonnes of writing and offset paper or goods for 150 billion soums. It is planned to export at least 30% of produced goods and create 100 additional jobs.
In 2009, NBU Investment of National Bank of Uzbekistan for Foreign Economic Activity invested into the enterprise to rehabilitate its production. The enterprise produces export-oriented and import-replacing products – writing, offset and light cardboard paper.
In past period of 2013, it produced goods for over 1.9 billion soums and it is planning to increase production volume to 2.5 billion soums.
Namangan Qogozi LLC is only producer of writing, polygraph and light cardboard paper in Uzbekistan and Central Asia. Currently, the enterprise is working on modernizing its capacities and increasing production volume.
