Matvienko: Russia is for strict observance of migration legislation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russia is for legal migration and strict observance of legislation in migration sphere, chairperson of the Federation Council of Russia Valentina Matvienko said during her visit to Uzbekistan.
Valentina Matvienko said that about 35% of labour migrants in the territory of Russia are citizens of Uzbekistan. She said that the relations in labour migrations are regulated with inter-governmental agreements.
Russian top legislator said that positions of Uzbekistan and Russia in this process are common. She said that both sides are fighting with illegal migration. She underlined that it is necessary to achieve implementation of these agreements in full volume.
Matvienko said that there are no plans to strict measures, but it is necessary to implement them.
She stated that it is necessary to ensure social protection and create normal conditions for life of labour migrants in the Russian territory.
