Uzbek envoy hands over credential to Canadian Governor General

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Canada with residence in Washington (USA) Bakhtiyor Gulyamov handed over his credential to the Governor General of Canada David Johnston on 13 March 2014.
After the ceremony, the current state and perspectives of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Canada in various areas were discussed, Jahon news agency reported.
In particular, it was underlined that the Uzbek-Canadian relations were boosted in recent years and the sides affirmed interest in expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation in wide range of issues, representing mutual interest.
The Governor General of Canada David Johnston expressed gratitude to the leadership of Uzbekistan for active participation in ensuring regional security in Central Asia.
He highly rated achievements of Uzbekistan in economy, which demonstrates stable 8% growth and reforms in various areas.
