Central Council of PDPU holds its ninth plenum

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Central Council of People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (PDPU) held its ninth plenum in Tashkent on 26 March 2014.
Members of the Central Council of PDPU, Central revision commission of party, members of PDPU faction at Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, heads of regional councils of the party, party groups at Councils of People’s Deputies participated at the plenum.
The plenum considered issues on further improving work of organizations and MPs union of PDPU on implementing programme goals and tasks, the press service of the party said. Chairperson of the Central Council of PDPU Hotamjon Ketmonov delivered a speech on this topic.
It was noted at the plenum that the main task of the party is to deepen and continue reforms in the country, update and modernize economy, increase level and quality of life standards in Uzbekistan.
One of the main directions of reforms in Uzbekistan is to increase role and importance of both chambers of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan local Councils of People’s Deputies. The party supported recent constitutional initiative of the President of Uzbekistan on raising role of political parties in determining concrete priorities of public-political and economic development of Uzbekistan, and reforming and modernizing the country.
It was underlined that all groups of PDPU in local Councils of People’s Deputies, each elected deputies from the party should critically consider their work and improve their activities in 2014.
The plenum of the PDPU called all its members actively participate in implementation of the state programme “The Year of Healthy Children”, programme on creation of jobs and employment of population for 2014. The party members also should study the territorial progammes and their implementation, as well introduce changes to them if necessary.
The plenum also called the party to strengthen parliamentary, deputy and public control over execution of the laws, resolutions and decrees of the president and other government decisions. It was said that PDPUs is interested in full and clear, as well as timely execution of the laws.
The plenum participants said that MPs should strengthen control over areas, where shortages were revealed. MPs should actively use MPs request and submit proposals on consideration of important issues.
The participants stated that the party should systematically monitor social situation in places, timely determine problems and should adopt measures to eliminate them.
The plenum considered other organizational issues.
