CBU denies rumors on abolishment of 5,000 soums banknotes

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Central Bank of Uzbekistan denied rumors on abolishment of banknotes with nominal value 5,000 soums, Soliq Info newspaper reported quoting the source of the regulator.
The paper said that after introduction of new banknotes from 1 July 2013 there were rumors that the banknotes have shortages and the banknotes will be removed from circulation.
The newspaper reported quoting representative of the Central Bank that these rumors have no bases. The design of 5,000 soums banknote was approved by the Senate and has no defects.
