CNPC may start oil mining in Uzbekistan in 2015

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) is planning to start exploration of oil field Mingbulak in Namangan region of Uzbekistan in 2015, RIA Novosti reported quoting source, who familiar with the situation.
The source said that the company will complete drilling in licensed area in summer, where perspective horizons were revealed. In the end of 2014, it will start construction works and start exploitation of the field in the first half of 2015.
In October 2011, CNPC and Uzbekneftegaz signed an agreement on main principles of cooperation on joint development of oil field Mingbulak.
The Chinese company plans to invest US$212 million to exploration and exploitation works within the project. It is planned to produce 200,000 tonnes of oil a year.
Mingbulakneft, which was created in 2008 by CNPC and Andijanneft, is an operator of the project. Mingbulak field was opened in 1992. Total mineable reserves of the field are about 2 million tones.
