Uzbekistan and South Korea to hold political consultations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea will hold political consultation in Seoul on 24 April.
The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea said that the Foreign Ministry’s Deputy Minister for Political Affairs of South Korea Lee Kyung-soo and Murad Askarov, Uzbekistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister in charge of Asia-Pacific affairs, will hold the eleventh Policy Consultation between the Republic of Korea (ROK) and Uzbekistan in Seoul on April 24.
In the meeting, the two Deputy Ministers will discuss key matters of interest of their two countries, including ways to increase substantive cooperation in trade, investment, construction, infrastructure, information technology (IT), energy, mineral resources, and development, as well as the regional situation and ways to work together on the international stage.
They will also discuss ways to promote cultural exchanges between the peoples of the two countries, including building a Seoul Park in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.
The ROK-Uzbekistan Policy Consultation is a high-level consultation mechanism between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries launched in 1994 and convened on a regular basis to discuss and seek cooperation on bilateral, regional and global issues. The tenth of its kind took place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in November 2011.
