Longest tunnel in Central Asia is constructed in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An Uzbek railway tunnel Angren-Pap is the longest tunnel, which is constructed by Chinese companies in Central Asia, the People’s Daily newspaper reported.
The length of tunnel will make up 19.2 km and the sum of the contact is US$455 million. The project is implemented in Namangan region.
The construction of the tunnel was launched in September 2013 and it is planned to commission it on 1 August 2016.
The railway Angren-Pap will help link China and Europe via Uzbekistan, which should help to develop economies of Central Asian states.
