Uzbekistan increases car production by 6.3%

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Machinery enterprises of Uzbekistan produced goods for 6.916 trillion soums in the first half of 2014, which rose by 17.1% year-on-year, the press service of the State Statistics Committee said.
In the reporting period, share of the sector in industrial production of Uzbekistan reached 20%, which is 1.6 percentage points more compared to the same period of 2013.
Uzbekistan increased production of bused by 24.7%, lorries – by 18.9%, cars (without specialized cars) – by 6.3%. In particular, production of Captiva cars rose by 2.8 times, Malibu – 1.8 times and Cobalt – 9.7%.
The country is expanding production of new car models – Gentra (27,000 units) and Orlando (563 units).
Production of lead-acid batteries for starting piston engines (10.3% compared to January-June 2013.), radiators, silencers, exhaust pipes, clutches, steering wheels (27.1%), motor vehicles (29,5%), running wheels, its parts and accessories (2.9 times) also increased in the reporting period.
At the same time, industrial enterprises increased production of electrical products, such as: circuit breakers (for voltage up to 1 kV) - 12.4 times, copper wire - 1.4 times, electric conductors, for a voltage exceeding 1 kV (high) - 24.7%, insulated wires wound - by 18.8%.
In addition, Uzbekistan increased production of refrigerators and freezers - 5.8 times, central heating radiator - 2.2 times, bicycles - 1.6 times, hand tools for use in agriculture, horticulture - 1.6 times, cash registers (except electronic payment terminals) - 29.6%, energy saving lamps - by 18.6%.
