Uzbekistan plans to construct another solar power station

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan is planning to attract a grant of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to develop feasibility study of the project on construction of the second solar power station in the country.
It is expected that the ADB will provide technical assistance for US$1.5 million to Uzbekistan to develop the feasibility study of the project.
Uzbekistan started to implement the first solar power plant in Samarkand region.
The project envisages construction of generating capacities for 100 megawatt with production of 200 million KWH of electricity a year. The project is expected to run for about five years with an estimated completion date of March 2019.
The project cost is US$310 million. It will be financed due to loan of the Asian Development Bank for US$110 million, as well as resources of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan and Uzbekenergo.
