UZINFOINVEST and JETRO sign memorandum of understanding

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Information Support and Foreign Investments Promotion Agency UZINFOINVEST signed a memorandum of understanding with Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) on 6 August 2014.
The memorandum was signed within the visit of Toshimitsu Motegi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, to Uzbekistan.
The document is directed at expansion of investment cooperation and trade between Uzbekistan and Japan via exchange of economic information.
The sides will exchange economic information, hold business seminars, assist to attract foreign investment and expand bilateral trade-economic relations.
Japan has traditionally been one of Uzbekistan’s key economic partners. In 2013, the trade turnover between the two countries exceeded US$215 million. The aggregate volume of financial-technical assistance provided by Japan to Uzbekistan has surpassed US$2 billion.
