KOICA President visits Vocational training center in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Mr. Kim Young-mok started his visit the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Within his visit to Uzbekistan, KOICA chief paid a visit to Vocational training center in Sergili district in Tashkent, where he familiarized with the operations of the center and visited practical lessons.
The center was created in line with the governmental resolution “On measures on creation of Vocational training center in Tashkent with participation of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA)” from 13 August 2007.
Annually some 360 talented youth will study at the center on such direction and electronics, machinery, repair of cars, information technologies.
The center has modern educational and laboratory equipment, as well as manuals. There is also hostel for 100 places for those, who come from Uzbek regions.
Theoretical lessons will make up 30%, practical lessons – 65-70%. Students will also undergo internship in their future workplace for 3-4 months.
Director of the center Ravshan Ibragimov said that some 1,042 people graduated the Vocational Training Center and all of them were employed.
KOICA President Mr. Kim Young-mok highly rated the work of the center and underlined contribution of Korean volunteers in training highly skilled specialists. He said that similar centers will be created in Samarkand and Shakhrisabz.
Uzbekistan and KOICA signed an agreement on creation of the vocational training centers in Samarkand and Shakhrisabz.
