Population of Uzbekistan grows by 5m in 13 years

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan recorded the highest growth of population among the CIS states in last 13 years, according to data of Inter-governmental Statistics Committee of CIS.
According to the committee, from 2000 to 2013 number of population grew by over 5 million people. Number of population of Uzbekistan rose from 25 million to 30 million people.
In 2000-2013, number of population of Kazakhstan rose by 2 million (from 14.9 million to 16.91 million), Tajikistan – 1.8 million people (from 6.128 million to 7.987 million people), Azerbaijan – 1.3 million people (from 8.033 million to 9.356 million), Kyrgyzstan – 789,000 people (from 4.874 million to 5.663 million).
Number of population in Ukraine decreased by 3.7 million (from 49.115 million to 45.372 million), Russia – 3.5 million people (from 146.89 million to 143.347 million), Belarus – 539,000 people (from 10 million to 9.463 million people), Armenia – 200,000 people (from 3.227 million to 3.027 million), and Moldavia – 84,600 people (from 3.644 million to 3.559 million).
