Tashkent hosts roundtable on reproductive health of population

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis f Uzbekistan hosted a roundtable “Reproductive health of population – pledge for strong family and upbringing of healthy children” on 9 September 2014. It was organized by parliamentary faction of Adolat Party.
The participants underlined that Uzbekistan creates necessary conditions for strengthening health of population, first of all, women and children. Uzbekistan adopted about 15 laws, 100 decrees and resolutions of the President and Cabinet of Ministers to protect maternity and childhood.
Uzbekisran created special medical establishments, including perinatal and screening centers, maternity, complexes, children medical centers, rural medical points, etc.
It was underlined that about 98% of children are vaccinated annually. Uzbekistan was announced a polio free zone.
On 1 August 2014, Uzbekistan approved a state programme on further strengthening of reproductive health of population, protecting health of women, teenagers and children for 2014-2018. The programme includes over 40 projects.
During the event, the participants exchanged opinion on reproductive health of population, improve material and technical base of medical institutions.
The participants shared their proposals and recommendations n further improving health of population, including women and children, using untapped potential, developing social public-private partnership, etc.
