Role of youth to development of national parliamentarism discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent city Council of Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP) held a meeting with the MPs entitled “Role of youth in developing national parliamentarism” at Tashkent University of Information Technologies.
MPs of Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and Tashkent city Council of People’s Deputies, members of Youth Activities of the party, students and teachers participated in the event, the press service of the party said.
The meeting was directed at further strengthening work of the party in implementing the Concept on further deepening democratic reforms and formation of civil society in the country, attracting youth to construction of democratic state, etc.
Currently, Tashkent city Council of UzLiDeP unites 37,021 citizens, of them 19,901 are youth. About 185 preliminary party organizations of Tashkent city are headed by youth at the age of up to 30.
During the event, the participants discussed a project “My place in parliament”. Within the project, the organizers hold roundtables, seminars, conference and meetings with MPs, as well as contests in April-December 2014.
So far this year, some 10 meetings were held within the project and the participants discussed several new draft laws.
During the event, the participants discussed issues of improving skills and knowledge of youth, changes to the Constitution, further democratization of the country, etc. The youth also had chance to receive answers to their questions.
