Uzbek pilgrims fly to Saudi Arabia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- About 449 pilgrims from Uzbekistan flied to Saudi Arabia on 15 September 2014 to perform Hajj pilgrimage, the press service of the Committee on Religious affairs said.
The committee said that about 5,200 people will carry out Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia in line with the agreement with Ministry of Hajj Affairs of Saudi Arabia.
All pilgrims will fly to Media from Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Termez, Ferghana, Andijan and Andijan with flights of Uzbekistan Havo Yollari from 15 to 26 September 2014.
Along with pilgrims, four doctors, six people of working group and four cooks flied to Saudi Arabia, the committee added. Overall 25 people of working group, 30 doctors and 10 cooks will assist pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
Before departure, pilgrims received print and video materials on pilgrimage rituals.
The committee said that hotels, near sacred places of Medina and Mecca, were rented for pilgrims from Uzbekistan. During pilgrimage, Uzbek citizens will stay three days and four days in Medina and visit Mecca to perform Hajj rituals.
Pilgrims from Uzbekistan will return to Uzbekistan with flights, scheduled from 9 to 20 October 2014, the committee added.
