Uzbek judges attend constitutional law seminar in Finland

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within initiative on rule of law for Central Asia, initiated by the EU and implemented in cooperation with France and Germany, the project “The Rule of Law Platform – Central Asia” held a regional seminar of high level on constitutional law in Helsinki, Finland, on 17 September 2014.
The event was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland. The main goal of the seminar is to develop and strengthen cooperation on important issues, related with constitutional justice.
The seminar was organized by about 50 participants from the EU and Central Asia, including judges of Constitutional Courts, national bodies, activities of which are connected with constitutional law.
The participants discussed implementation of joint communiqué, adopted in Brussels in December 2012 at the Third Conference of Ministers of Justice of the EU and Central Asia, which underlined importance of cooperation and reforms in legislation.
The participants adopted recommendations directed at promoting measures at supporting constitutional reforms in the sphere of rule of law in Central Asia, which will help to development of dialogue between Ministries of Justice of EU and Central Asian within the fourth conference on rule of law, which will be held in Astana, Kazakhstan, on 14-15 October 2014.
