Navoiazot puts off its modernization to 2015

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Navoiazot prolonged tender for modernization of nitric acid production capacities with starting price of US$185 million, according to data of enterprise, published in local media.
The tender commission adopted decision on prolonging the tender till 5 November, while the results will be summed up in the first quarter of 2015.
Earlier, the company announced the tender with expiration date of 12 September. The results should be summed up by the end of 2014.
According to the tender terms, the winner should construct capacities of nitric acid production on “turn-key” bases. The project should be implemented within 36 months.
The reconstruction will help to increase production of non-concentrated nitric acid by 1.4 times – to 500,000 tonnes a year.
The project with the cost of US$210 million will be financed due to own resources of Navoiazot, loan of Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan, loans of foreign banks, as well as loans of the contractor.
Navoiazot is a largest chemical enterprise, which was launched in 1964.It produces nitric fertilizers, nitronic fibre and other products.
