Uzbek citizens detained in Tver in attempt to sell baby

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Two citizens of Uzbekistan attempted to sell a baby girl for 400,000 rubles in Tver city, the press service of Investigative Committee of Russia said.
According to law enforcement body, two women – mother and her 20-year old daughter - entered into a criminal conspiracy in late August 2014 and agreed to sell a future baby. The young woman was pregnant and they planned to sell the baby for 400,000 rubles.
On 27 September, the young woman gave a birth to a baby girl in Tver city. On 30 September, they handed over newborn to the buyer and received 400,000 rubles.
Currently, the investigation is underway. The investigators are establishing all conditions of crime and collecting evidences.
The women can be sentenced for up to 10 years in jail.
