Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Air Astana (Kazakhstan) is offering to increase number of flights between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
Erbol Ospanov, Senior Vice President of Air Astana on government, legislative issues and security, underlined that Air Astana will hold negotiations tomorrow with air traffic administration of Uzbekistan to discuss further development of cooperation.
He added that during negotiations with representatives of Uzbekistan, Air Astana plans to offer Uzbek side to increase number of flights between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
Erbol Ospanov underlined that Air Astana wants to carry out 14 flights a week (twice a day) on route Almaty-Tashkent-Almaty and seven flights a week (once a day) on route Astana-Tashkent-Astana.
Currently, Air Astana conducts flights between Almaty and Tashkent six times a week and between Astana and Tashkent – twice a week.
He underlined that average load of flights on routes Almaty-Tashkent and Astana-Tashkent makes up over 90%. Load of flights are very high and everything is favourable for further development of ties between two states, he added.
According to Air Astana, the airline transported 72,400 passengers from Kazakhstan to Tashkent and vice-versa in 2013 and 54,610 in January-September 2014.
Air Astana was founded in 2011. Its shareholders are Samruk-Kazyna (51%) and BAE Systems of Great Britain (49%). The company carries out over 60 international and internal flights.
