Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Cumulative gas production of LUKOIL Uzbekistan Operating Company, a subsidiary of Russia’s LUKOIL Overseas, at its fields in Uzbekistan reached 25 billion cubic meters of gas.
Neftyaniyi Vedomosti, a corporate newspaper of LUKOIL Overseas, said that total volume of investments of LUKOIL into Uzbekistan exceeded US$3.5 billion, while total investments of the Russian company into existing projects will make up over US$8 billion, which makes the company the largest investor in the country.
Currently, LUKOIL mines gas at two contract areas – Khauzak-Shady in Bukhara region and Gissar Group of fields in Kashkadarya region.
LUKOIL Uzbekistan, created in July 2004, is a single operator of LUKOIL projects in Uzbekistan. Currently, the company employs over 1,500 people.

The agreement on product sharing on maga-project “Kandym-Khauzak-Shady-Kungrad” was signed in June 2014. It was signed for 35 years. The drilling at the first field of the project – Khauzak – was started in summer 2006, while launch of the field started in November 2007.
Design level of gas production, 3 billion cubic meters per year, was achieved in November 2008. In the end of 2011, gas production was launched at Western Shady. The volume of mining in 2013 was 3.74 billion cubic meters a gas.
Soon, LUKOIL is planning to commission booster compression station at Khauzak, which will allow to increase gas production.
At the same time, the Russian company implements the project “Early gas at Kandym” – construction of Kuvachi-Alat and Northern Shady fields.
In 2007, LUKOIL Overseas became partner of the production sharing agreement on Southern-Western Gissar and Utsyurt region with Uzbekneftegaz. The company complex seismic exploration works in 2010 and revealed several perspective structures. In the end of 2011, the first gas was products at Jarquduq-Yangi Kizilcha field. In 2012, the volume of gas production reached the planned level (1.1 billion cubic meters a year). About 1.1 billion cubic meters of gas was mined in the block in 2013.
In spring of 2014, the project Southern-Western Gissar entered to full development phase. The launch of main objects is scheduled for 2017. The project level of gas production is 4.8 billion cubic meters a year.
