Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Thermographic cameras were installed at the airports in Uzbekistan to prevent spread of Ebola virus in the country, Deputy Minister of Healthcare of Uzbekistan Saidmurad Saidaliev told in interview to UzA news agency.
He said that thermographic cameras were installed in arrival zones of airports in Tashkent, Bukhara, Samarkand, Urgench and Navoi.
Uzbek health official said that doctors of scientific-research institute of virology and Epidemiology, Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at the Ministry of Health were also attracted along with the sanitary-control department of the Center of the state sanitary-epidemiology control of Uzbekistan Havo Yollari to conduct medical monitoring.
From October 2014, the passengers are screened with help of thermographic cameras, Saidmurad Saidaliev underlined.
He said that the people, who are passing state borders, also examined with modern pyrometers (devises for remote temperature measuring of the body). Specialists of all sanitary-control points equipped with individual protection means.
Special boxes were prepared at the clinics of the Scientific-research institute of virology, which will be used to hospitalize people with suspect to have contracted Ebola. Reserves of medicaments and individual protection means were also created. Similar reserves were also created in regional infectious diseases hospitals.
