Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 November the British Council in collaboration with the Centre of Secondary Specialised Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Uzbekistan, YPM "Kamolot" and the United Nations Development Programme will host the final tour of the "Enterprise Award - 2014" republican contestwhich will be run in theInternational Business Centre.
The contest is designed for 16 to 18 years students of vocational colleges and it is aimed at improving their skills of innovative thinking, entrepreneurial, communication and planning skills. During the competition students will also be able to develop their problem-solving, creative thinking, skills of working in a team, financial literacy and leadership skills.
The studies show that the culture of the company, where people are required to express their creativity, problem solving and decision making skills is a significant factor of economic development, creating jobs and fund raising for economic and social benefits.
This is a national competition and involves over 1400 colleges and 20,000 students in Uzbekistan.
The contest started in September this year and run in three stages:
Stage 1 - each college formed a team of five people (four students and one teacher)to present their innovative idea. Thewinners at the college level were defined.
Stage 2 - 14 teams representingeach region, Karakalpakstan Republic and Tashkentcity were selected to the final event. In addition, the UNDP experts conducted trainings for the development and promotion of innovative ideas for the teams-participants. In addition training materials were developed in Uzbek and Russian languages.
Stage 3 - All 14 teams areinvited to Tashkent for the final round, where the winner team will be chosen. Based on the results of selecting stages, all teamsdeveloped a video representing their innovative idea. The videos were posted on the www.markaz.uz website for online voting which will make20% of the total assessment.
The judge group consisting from the representatives of the CSSE, the Chamber of Commerce, the UNDP and the Youth movement "Kamolot."assessed the work of teams in the regions on the basis of regional units of CSSE. The final national round of the competition will be judged by a jury of 11 representatives fromthe ministry, agencies and partner organisations.
According to the results of the competition three best teams will receive a prize of 2.5 million sums as the initial capital for the implementation of their ideas.
