Hyundai to implement project for over US$8bn by 2019

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Hyundai of South Korea will implement contracts in fuel and energy complex of Uzbekistan for more than US$8 billion till the end of 2018, Hyundai Engineering & Construction President Jung Soo-Hyung said on Tuesday.
Jung Soo-Hyung said the company has serious contracts, which were signed in the result of international tenders. They will be implemented together with partners in the next 3-4 years. He said the company will continue to participate in new tenders and expects to win them.
Recently, it was reported that a consortium led by Hyundai Engineering Co won a tender for supply of equipment, construction of a complex of gas processing plant and Kandym groups of fields, developed by LUKOIL with the cost of US$2.66 billion.
The capacity of Kandym gas processing plant makes up 8 billion cubic meters. The first line of the plant will be commissioned by July 2014, RIA Novosti reported.
In December 2013, Hyundai Engineering & Construction signed the contract for construction of the technological part of the GTL plant in Kashkadarya region. The contract sum was not disclosed. The plant will process 3.5 billion cubic meters of gas and produce 864,000 tonnes of diesel fuel, 304,000 tonnes of jet kerosene, 395,000 tonnes of naphtha and 11,200 tonnes of liquefied gas a year. The plant will be commissioned in August 2017.
Hyundai Engineering together with с Samsung Engineering, GS Engineering is general contractor of construction of the Ustyurt Gas Chemical Complex on the base of the Surgil field with the cost of US$4.1 billion and modernization of Talimarjan thermal power station with the cost of US$1.28 billion. These projects will be complete by the end of 2016.
