Maxam-Chirchiq to modernize capacities on mineral fertilizers production

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan with its resolution approved measures on implementation of investment project “Reconstruction and modernization of primary production capacities to ensure stable work of capacities on production of mineral resources at Maxam-Chirchiq”.
The resolution was adopted to ensure stable production of mineral fertilizers at Maxam-Chirchiq due to modernization and reconstruction of the primary production capacities, as well as rational use of energy resources.
The document said that the investment project “Reconstruction and modernization of primary production capacities to ensure stable work of capacities on production of mineral resources at Maxam-Chirchiq” is implemented in Uzbekistan.
In the result of conducted tenders, the contracts on supply, assembly and commissioning works were signed between Maxam-Chirchiq and ZVU POTEZ a.s. for US$2.344 million, Progress Group (Ukraine) for US$0.324 million and Entehmash (Russia) for US$1.368 million.
In line with the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan from 11 December 2013, Maxam-Chirchiq signed contracts on supply, assembly and commissioning works with Casale SA (Switzerland) for US$2.485 million and Mitsubishi Corporation (Japan) for US$1.707 million. The financing was opened.
The project is financed due to own resources of Maxam-Chirchiq for US$10.428 million. The Government approved the feasibility study of the project.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved equipment, materials, spare parts and components, which are not produced in Uzbekistan, and imported by Maxam-Chirchiq within the project. The resolution said the company will not pay customs duties for imported goods.
