Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Shavkat Mirziyayev was approved as Prime Minister of Uzbekistan during the joint session of both chambers of the parliament of Uzbekistan.
At the joint session of Legislative Chamber and Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan resigned.
President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov proposed to members of Legislative Chamber and Senate to consider and approve candidacy of Shavkat Mirziyayev to the post of Prime Minister of Uzbekistan.
MPs of Legislative Chamber and members of Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan approved candidacy of Shavkat Mirziyayev to the post of Prime Minister.
As earlier reported, UzLiDeP, which won the most seats in Legislative Chamber, nominated Shavkat Mirziyayev to the post of Prime Minister. In line with the legislation of Uzbekistan, the party, which wins the most seats in the lower house of the parliament, nominates the candidacy of Prime Minister.
Shavkat Mirziyayev has been working as Prime Minister of Uzbekistan since 2013.
