Uzbekistan, Omsk region discuss issues of cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of the state joint stock foreign trade company Uzinterimpeks (Uzbekistan) paid a visit to Omsk region of Russia.
The delegation of Uzbekistan held negotiations at the Ministry of Economy of Omsk region and Omsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The visit was aimed at establishing direct contacts with Russian sellers of the Uzbek fruits and vegetables.
Representatives of trade networks, wholesale and retail companies, realizing fruits and vegetables, as well as textile products attended the meeting at Omsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
At the meeting, the participants discussed issues of cooperation between Omsk region and Uzbekistan, including import of fresh fruits and vegetables, dried fruits, tinned agriculture products, textile and knitted produces to the Russian region.
The Russian companies expressed interest in cooperation with Uzinterimpeks in import from fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan to Omsk region. Last year, Uzinterimpeks supplied cabbage and persimmon to Omsk region.
Russian companies such as Metro Cash and Kerry, Holiday, Losena, Sitnaya Ploshad, Sibovoshprom and others expressed interest in cooperation with the Uzbek company on supply of fruits and vegetables, textile products.
Ulugbek Teshabaev, representative of Uzinterimpeks, said that the Russian companies expressed interest in cooperation. He said that the company wanted to sign contracts with these companies and expand supply of Uzbek fruits and vegetables.
The delegation of Uzbekistan also held a meeting at Ministry of Economy of Omsk region. The sides considered expansion of supplies of Uzbek products to replace banned European goods.
It was underlined that it is necessary to create trade house, logistic center, in Omsk region, which will supply fruits and vegetables to the region in all seasons.
Deputy Ministry of Economy of Omsk region Pavel Pavlov said that the logistic center will help to move to new level of cooperation. New center could work to meet demands of Omsk region and other regions. He said that it will be difficult to increase trade without such enterprise. He said that it is necessary to expand exports of fruits and vegetables to Omsk and share transportation expenses.
It was noted that Omsk region is ready to export its own products – timber products, forage, tinned milk, oil products, equipment for food industry, electronics and other produces – to Uzbekistan.
Vice President of Omsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry Olga Fedulova said that Omsk region exports milk and tinned products, beer barley, timber products, automobile tires, and others.
Uzbek delegation said that the proposal on use of transit-logistic potential of Omsk region will be delivered to top management of the Uzbek company.
