Over 1,360 buses in Tashkent equipped with GPS trackers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A system of remote monitoring of movement of city passenger transport was set at 1,360 buses of nine bus fleets in Tashkent, which are used at 127 city routes, the press service of Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan said.
The system was introduced in line with the resolution of the President “On measures on further improving system of organization of passenger transport in Tashkent” from 9 October 2013 and resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On organizational measures on further improving system of passenger transport” from 13 November 2013.
Orient Finans Bank allocated 1.1 billion soums of loans to purchase 2,500 sets of GPS trackers and GPS/GSM-antennas.
In the first stage of the project, Toshavtotamirhizmat and Uzprommashimpeks signed a commission agreement and agreement for import of 300 GPS trackers with Meitrack Group for 126.8 million soums.
In the second stage, Uzprommashimpeks and Meitrack Group signed an agreement on supply of 2,200 sets of GPS trackers and GPS/GSM-antennas for US$289,285.
As of 1 January 2015, about 1,369 sets of GPS trackers were installed at buses of 9 bus fleets of the company, which are used at 127 city routes. It helped to save 1.209 billion soums in 2014.
New central dispatcher service, equipped with 30 computers and 16 displays, was created. Fourteen online video surveillance cameras were installed at 14 bus stations.
Toshavtotamirhizmat created a technical service on installation and repair of GPS-equipment.
