Issues of training cadres for agriculture sector discussed in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent State Agriculture University in cooperation with the Executive Committee of Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP) and Council of Farmers of Uzbekistan held a dialogue “Training of highly skilled cadres in agriculture sphere – pledge for development of agriculture and farmers’ movement of the country” on 28 January 2015.
Representatives of UzLiDeP, Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management, Center for support of entrepreneurship and farms, businesses and farmers participated in the event.
Uzbekistan is achieving high results in agriculture sector and selfless work of farmers is main reason for these achievements. Uzbekistan currently reforms agriculture sector
Uzbek President Islam Karimov in his speech at the session of both chambers of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan outlined several priority directions of development of farms. One of such directions is improving interest and knowledge of youth to agriculture sector via organization various events, seminars, contests, etc.
At the event it was underlined that agriculture sector is one of key sectors of economy. Currently, 63% of population are living in rural areas and the farmers provide 95% of demand of population for agriculture goods.
It was noted that Uzbekistan conducts work to improve soil fertility via land-reclamation works. In 2012-2014, conditions of about 1.7 million hectares of irrigated lands were improved.
Currently young generation of farmers is achieving goods results in introduction of new technologies and methods into agriculture sector. UzLiDeP pays attention to improving knowledge of young farmers and their growth.
At the end of the dialogues, ten talented students of the higher educational establishment received stipends Kelajak Fermeri (Future Farmer), which was established by UzLiDeP and Council of Farmers of Uzbekistan.
