Illegal taxi drivers fined for 10.207bn soums in Uzbekistan in 2014

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Illegal taxi drivers were fined for 10.207 billion soums in Uzbekistan in 2014, the Uzbek Agency for Automobile and River Transport said.
Uzbek Agency for Automobile and River Transport in cooperation with other state bodies conducted 4,364 raids and revealed 67,018 cases of violation of licensing sphere by the drivers.
The drivers, who carried out taxi activities without licensing, paid 10.2017 billion soums in line with 16,511 protocols.
The agency said that as of 1 January 2015, some 2,806 legal entities have licenses to transport passengers. In 2014, the agency issued 2,813 licenses and about 170,000 license cards.
Overall, currently number of cars, which received licenses to transportation, exceeds 92,680 units.
