Uzbek FM meets with special representative of Japan Foreign Ministry

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received Special representatives for Central Asia and Caucasus affairs, deputy director-general of Bureau for Europe Akira Muto on 9 February 2015.
The delegation led by Akira Muto arrived in Tashkent to hold next round of political consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Japan.
At the meeting, the sides discussed current state and perspectives of developing bilateral relations, international and regional problems, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.
The sides underlined dynamic character of the Uzbek-Japanese dialogue with satisfaction.
Uzbekistan and Japan accrued significant experience of fruitful cooperation in various areas, created solid agreement-legal base for cooperation, which is strengthened with joint statement on friendship, strategic partnership and cooperation.
Both sides highly rates results of the joint session of the Uzbek-Japanese and Japanese-Uzbek committee on economic cooperation, within which the sides signed a package of investment and credit agreements, projects of technical assistance for US$3.8 billion.
At the meeting, the sides expressed mutual interest in further developing cultural and humanitarian relations.
On the same day, next round of bilateral political consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Japan was held.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Fumihiko Kato participated in the negotiations.
