Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Japan’s Hitachi Zosen Corporation will produce a synthesis reactor for a plant for production of synthetic fuel (gas to liquid, GTL process) in Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan, RIA Novosti reported quoting the source in the Japanese company. The cost of the reactor was not disclosed.
Hitachi will be sub-contractor on production of Low Temperature Fischer-Tropsch (LTFT) reactor on turn-key bases, which is used to synthesis of fuel from natural gas.
It is expected that the first party of equipment for reactor will be delivered in the beginning of summer and construction will be started in the middle of 2015.
The plant is created on the bases of Shortan Gas Chemical Complex. It will process 3.5 billion cubic meters of gas and produce 864,000 tonnes of diesel fuel, 304,000 tonnes of jet kerosene, 395,000 tonnes of nafta and 11,200 tonnes of liquefied gas a year. Hyundai Engineering & Construction of South Korea is building technological part of the plant.
The plant will be completed in August 2017. The project cost is US$5.6 billion and will be financed due to resources of the founders of Uzbekistan GTL, loans of the consortium of banks.
Currently, Uzbekneftegaz owns 44.5% stake in Uzbekistan GTL. Sasol also has 44.5% share in the venture. Petronas of Malaysia possesses 11% stake.
