Uzbekistan completes restoration of 100-year old bridge

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzavtoyol (Uzbek Automobile Roads) state joint stock company completed reconstruction of Chorikulboy bridge in Bukhara, which was constructed over Zarafshan river in 1912-1914s. The bridge was commissioned for exploitation.
According to the company, the bridge was designed by Czech architects and constructed by German and Bukhara builders.
The length of the bridge is 100 meters and width – 7.5 meters. Eight columns with the height of 4 meters support the bridge.
Uzavtoyol said that the bridge can withstand a 9-point earthquake. The specialists of Bukhara kept historic outlook of the exhibition at reconstruction.
