SCO: Presidential elections adhere to electoral legislation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An observation mission of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) stated that the presidential elections in Uzbekistan, which were held on 29 March, complied to the electoral legislation of Uzbekistan.
The mission said that its observers visited polling stations in Tashkent city, Bukhara, Samarkand and Tashkent regions. The mission received full information on candidates and their pre-election programme.
The SCO mission stated that it recorded no violation of regulation on use of mass media by candidates during agitation period.
The mission underlined high political activity of population. The mission said that the elections were held strictly with legislation of Uzbekistan. There were no complaints from people or political parties, it added.
