Uzbek customs officers seize quadcopter in Karshi

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Officers of the Customs Department of Kashkadarya region prevented an attempt to import unmanned aerial vehicle into Uzbekistan.
According to the press service of the Customs Department, citizen I. Kurbanov, who arrived in Moscow from Karshi, did not declare quadcopter SYMA X5C in his declaration. The unmanned aerial vehicle was found during inspection of his luggage.
In line with the decision of the court, Kurbonov was fined for 592,000 soums for illegal importing of unmanned aerial vehicle. The quadcopter was destroyed.
From 1 January 2015 Uzbekistan introduced a ban for import, sales and use of unmanned aerial vehicles. The decision was adopted to ensure flight safety and prevent unsanctioned use of air space of Uzbekistan by unmanned aerial vehicles.
