Uzbek envoy holds talks with President of Russian CCI

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Russia Akmal Kamalov met with the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of the Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin, the press service of the Russian chamber said.
At the negotiations, the sides discussed trade-economic relations between Uzbekistan and Russia. It was underlined that mutual beneficial cooperation between companies of two states is developing successfully.
Akmal Kamilov said that number of small and medium businesses in Uzbekistan, which are interested in cooperation with the Russian companies, is increasing. He noted that the companies between Uzbekistan and Russia can expand trade and organize joint production capacities.
Sergey Katyrin said it is necessary to intensify mutual exchange of economic information and organize business missions, especially at the level of the regions of two states. He said that this will help to determine concrete directions of interaction. He added that the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of two states should boost their activities.
Akmal Kamalov said that the Uzbek side is interested in signing an agreement for complex supply of agriculture products to the Russian regions, within which the Uzbek regions would produce goods for northern regions of Russia.
According to Sergey Katyrin, Tyumen region or Ural could be such region, where strong Chambers of Commerce and Industry and can help necessary assistance. He said the Chamber will study the issue.
The sides exchanged opinion on several issues of mutual interest.
