Uzbek food industry produces industrial goods for 991.1bn soums in 1Q

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Enterprises of the Association of Enterprises of Food Industry produced industrial products for 991.1 billion soums in January-March 2015, which grew by 25.5% compared to the same period of 2014.
Enterprises of the industry produced consumer goods worth 896.2 billion soums in the first quarter of 2015, which increased by 30.4% year-on-year.
The industry increased production of refined oil (+ 1.2%), household soap (+ 5.0%), margarine (+ 23.4%), sugar (+44.2%), confectionery (+ 58.9%), beer (+ 9.5%), meat and meat products (+ 90.5%), sausages (5.0%), milk and dairy products (+ 45.9%), butter oil (+ 25.4%), cheese and brynza (+ 1.3%).
In the first quarter, the industry started production of 98 products, including 79 units of confectionery, 5 units of fat and oil products, 7 units of canning goods, 3 units of meat products and 4 units of milk products.
The Association plans to use investments for US$55.45 million of investments due to own resources, banking loans and foreign direct investments in 2015.
The industry used investments for US$3.29 million due to own resources and banking loans in the first quarter, while the forecast for the quarter was at the level of US$1.98 million.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, regional and Tashkent city administration, it is planned to realize 983 investment projects for 389.8 billion soums in 2015 and create 10,575 jobs.
The industry implemented 141 projects for 50.59 billion soums and created 1,193 new jobs in the first quarter of 2015, while it was planned to implement 108 projects for 45.05 billion soums and create 1,000 jobs in the first three months of 2015.
There are 123 small enterprises in the structure of the Association, which produced 349.77 billion soums of products in the first quarter of 2015, which makes up 35.3% of total volume of produced goods in the industry.
