ILO officials hold talks at Uzbek Labour Ministry

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with the special advisor of director-general of International Labour Organization (ILO) Kari Tapiola and representative of ILO in Uzbekistan Harri Taliga with the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Aziz Abduhakimov and the Chairperson of the Council of Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva on 27 April 2015.
During the negotiations, Kari Tapiola said that Uzbekistan achieved success in issues of implementing ratified ILO conventions. He added that this is evidence of adherence of Uzbek side to implement its obligations.
Minister Aziz Abdukhaimov underlined that the Government of Uzbekistan intends to continue to implement ILO conventions and norms to ensure deserved work conditions.
Chairperson of the Council of Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva underlined that inter-departmental working group, which includes representatives of Labour Ministry, Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, is playing key role in ensuring adherence to labour rights of the citizens.
At the meeting, the sides considered issues of establishing a mechanism of feedback and monitoring of the third side.
Uzbekistan joined ILO in 1992 and ratified 13 conventions of the organization. IN 2008, Uzbekistan approved and started to implement national action plan on realization of these documents.
