Uzbekistan, Ukraine to develop cooperation in agriculture sector

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Ukraine are interested in deepening cooperation and boost trade turnover in agriculture sector. This was stated at the meeting of the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Ukraine Alisher Abdualiev with the Minister of Agriculture Policy and Food of Ukraine Aleksey Pavlenko.
At the negotiations, it was underlined that the country should boost cooperation among landowner.
Alisher Abdualiev said that Ukraine holds the ninth place in structure of foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan. He said that Uzbekistan and Ukraine have great potential for fruitful cooperation, taking into account geographic location of the states and historic traditions.
Ukrainian Minister Aleksey Pavlenko said that Uzbek companies are actively working in various sectors of Ukrainian economy. Uzbekistan and Ukraine can cooperate in such directions as husbandry, grain and alcohol production.
Pavlenko said that Ukraine is interested in diversification of markets for export of agriculture products and cooperate in joint investment projects, scientific research activities and exchange of specialists.
At the meeting, the Uzbek side invited Ukrainian side to participate in international agriculture exhibition, which will be held in Tashkent in May.
