Uzbekistan directs 1.8bn soums to repair road between Samarkand and Navoi

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan directed over 1.8 billion soums to repair automobile roads between Samarkand and Navoi, state joint stock company Uzavtoyul said. It added that drivers complained on quality of roads in this direction.
From 25 April to 20 May, current repair works were conducted at 1037-1113 km of road “Almaty-Bishkek-Tashkent-Termez” (M39), 0-147 km of road “Samarkand-Bukhara-Turkmenbashi” and 33-46 km of Samarkand ring road (M-37a).
These roads pass through Bulungur, Jambay, Urgut, Samarkand, Akdarya, Ishtihan, Kattakurgan, Narpay and Pakhtachi districts of Samarkand region, Samarkand and Kattakurgan cities.
According to head of Samarkand specialized road repair and exploitation under Uzavtoyol Feruz Yakubov, the repair works is underway at 0-49 km of the road “Samarkand-Jume-Kattakurgan (4P-46).
The repair works are also underway at 20 km road, which links Samarkand and Shakhrisabz via Tahti Karacha pass. Over 3,000 tonnes of asphalt-cement pavement were used. The pass was cleaned from 5,000 cubic meters of mountain rocks.
