Vocational Training Center to be created in Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan with its resolution approved measures on creation of the Vocational Training Center in Samarkand city with attraction of the grant of the Government of the Republic Korea.
South Korea issued a grant for US$5.5 million to creation of the Center for 240 students with dormitory for 60 places. The center is created within the project “Expanding potential of professional education in Samarkand region of Uzbekistan”.
Samarkand regional administration allocated 1.6 hectares of land for the Center and currently preparations are underway for construction works. The documentation of the construction is developed as well.
The resolution said that imported and goods, services and works in Uzbekistan are exempted from customs duties and VAT.
Office of the Korean Agency for International Cooperation in Uzbekistan is a customer of construction of the Vocational Training Center in Samarkand.
The Center will conduct one-year training and re-training courses for unemployed people and graduates of colleges and lyceums. The Center will also provide paid trainings.
The Center will train specialists in such directions as repair and maintenance of automobiles (car mechanics, mechanics, specialists in vehicle diagnostics), welding and locksmith work (welders, fitters and specialists in the treatment of metals), electricity and electronics (specialists in repair and service maintenance of electronic and household appliances, radio and television equipment), information technology (computers operators, experts in maintenance and repair of computer and other office equipment).
Currently, the Vocational Training Center operates in Tashkent city, which was launched at financial assistance of the South Korean Government.
