South Korea is interested in attracting workers from Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Uzbekistan Aziz Abduhakimov received a delegation of South Korea led by Commissioner of Accounting Chamber Chin Yong Gon on 22 June 2015, the press service of the ministry said.
At the meeting, Chin Yong Gon said that South Korea attracts workers to its enterprises from 16 states of the world and pays priority directions to cooperation with Uzbekistan in this direction.
He said that people of Uzbekistan are linked not only with strategic partnership, but also with historic and cultural relations. That’s why, the Korean government actively supported and will support technical education and employment of population.
Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Uzbekistan Aziz Abduhakimov said that Uzbek workers, who worked in South Korea, are returning to their country with advanced skills and help to introduce new approaches to production process in local enterprises.
At the meeting, the sides discussed issues of increasing annual quota for workers from Uzbekistan. The Korean official noted that jobseekers from Uzbekistan are highly demanded in South Korea as they are intelligent and professional.
Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Uzbekistan and Ministry of Employment and Labour of South Korea signed a memorandum of understanding in 2007. In line with the document, over 22,500 citizens of Uzbekistan were employed in South Korea.
Currently, over 15,100 citizens of Uzbekistan are continuing their work in South Korea.
