State Competition Committee, IFC delegation discuss privatization n Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Privatization, Demonopolization and Development of Competition hosted a meeting with the delegation of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) led by senior expert on investments into financial sector in Europe, Central Asia and Middle East Natalya Bogomolova on 13 July 2015.
The delegation was received by the chamber of the State Competition Committee Davron Hidoyatov, deputy chairperson of Central Bank of Uzbekistan Ahad Haydarov and others.
The visit was aimed at discussing possible participation of IFC as consultant or investor in privatization of the state assets, including state assets in the financial institutions.
At the meeting, the sides considered issues of assistance of the IFC experts in privatization of state assets, including in banking sphere, developing corporate management, improving legislation and providing consulting services in tender processes.
The IFC mission was briefed on latest events in Uzbekistan directed at improving activities of joint stock companies and corporate management, as well as privatization of some state assets.
The IFC delegation expressed readiness participate as consult or investor in privatization process and it is required to make detailed study of the activities of the enterprises and banks to prepare proposals for strategic investors.
The sides agreed organize meetings for IFC specialists with management of several banks and prepare road maps for them.
