Ministry of Labour launches new initiative to employ college graduates

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A new initiative of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Uzbekistan launched a new initiative in Tashkent region, which is directed at supporting youth to launch their business.
Within the initiatives, during three days in all colleges of Zangiata district of Tashkent region hosted Days of open doors for launching own business, within which the college graduates were supported with preferential loans to start their businesses.
Representatives of commercial banks, district Center for population employment, Inspections for registration of businesses, Tax Committee, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and other bodies attended the event.
The graduates also could select various equipment and tools, which could be used in doing business. They also had chance to purchase cattle or poultry, agriculture equipment, etc.
The programme was successfully tested in three regions of Ferghana Valley and Syrdarya and gave its results.
Mahbuba Mutalova, graduate of Zangiata professional college of transport and service, said she wanted to open own sewing business and she needed 5 million soums to purchase sewing machines and equipment. She said she received the loan and underwent necessary registration procedures to launch her business.
Malika Akramov received 5.6 million soums to launch her husbandry farm. She said that the loan was issued for three years and will be used to purchase three cattle.
It is worth to mention that the loans are issued with interest rate from 3% to 9%. During the event, the college graduates also received answers to their questions, related to doing business, taxation, etc.
