GEFCO Baltic to ship MAN spare parts to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- GEFCO Baltic, a subsidiary of global player of the industrial logistic market GEFCO Group, extended an agreement with MAN, leading producer of trucks, buses and commercial vehicles.
According to the Latvian mass media, GEFCO will provide full chain of supply of spare parts from MAN plants in Austria and Germany to Uzbekistan with use of unique multimodal solutions.
The project was launched in April 2014 and lasted a year. MAN extended the deal with GEFCO, taking into account of quality of services.
It is expected that GEFCO will transport 800 units of 40-foot containers from Germany and 50 containers from Austria. In difficult conditions and with short notice for three days, GEFCO organizes the delivery of 71 containers and forms additional trains.
Director-general of GEFCO Martynas Keršys said that the biggest challenge for the company was to ensure timely delivery of containers in short of period of time, which is difficult task. The containers should pass borders of seven countries, he said. He noted that the company combines sea, land and train transports to transport containers from Germany and Austria to Uzbekistan.
GEFCO Baltic transported 972 containers (40 foot containers) from Germany and Austria to Uzbekistan from April 2014 to March 2015.
